The case of Aishling Brady McCarthy is now an issue in the campaign for Middlesex District Attorney.

The case of a Cavan woman who was jailed in the US for two and a half years has become part of the campaign of a candidate hoping to become the District Attorney of a County in Massachusetts.

Aishling Brady McCarthy from Lavey was charged with the first degree murder of 1 year old Rehma Sabir. She spend two and a half years in prison before being acquitted and released.

The sitting District Attorney is accused of keeping evidence from Brady-McCarthy’s defence team.

Candidate Donna Patalano is seeking to deny incumbent District Attorney Marian Ryan the Democratic Party nomination in a party primary election to be held on September 4th.
