A device used to measure the compaction of soil in road construction projects was stolen from a car trunk Monday in Bridgeport, CT. Police Tuesday  recovered it and arrested one person. Its radioactive components could conceivably be used to make a “dirty bomb” which would free radioactive material into the air. (Courtesy of NRC.gov.)
